Architectural Engineering
Architectural architecture is the artistic product and the discipline of designing, planning, and building physical structures or other such structures. Architectural works, traditionally in the concrete form of houses, can be seen as works of craftsmanship and as artistic expressions. Architectural works usually involve the integration of humans with nature and other important aspects of the built environment. These projects aim to create a structure that blends with and supports the surrounding landscape.
A large portion of the world’s population lives in cities and most buildings constructed today are designed for a highly technical and complex society. Urbanization has created major changes in architecture, leading to the growth of specialist professions in various fields such as structural, sustainable construction and sustainability, or building research and design. Architects, also known as landscape architects, are involved in planning and designing infrastructure and buildings such as parks and squares. They utilize different methods and techniques such as geotechnical principals, water conservation, energy efficiency, construction analysis and design, environmental quality, as well as cost-efficient construction and renovation. They use their knowledge and expertise in designing buildings and other facilities such as malls, theatres, hotels, showrooms, restaurants, conference rooms, hospitals, educational facilities, etc.
A major area of specialization is commercial architecture, which involves the planning, building, financing, managing, and maintenance of commercial buildings. A few of the examples of commercial architecture include high-rise office buildings, shopping malls, complexes, residential houses, agricultural complexes, and industrial estates. Architectural engineers are responsible for designing outdoor spaces such as swimming pools, parks, gardens, pavements, bridges, roads, and railway stations. They also play an important role in the planning of the structural design of buildings. Building designers play a key role in deciding the architecture, location, size, quality, safety, functionality, and maintenance of a building. These professionals are often specialized in one or more fields of architecture.
